Bosch Launches Smart Car Sun Visor that Blocks Direct Sunlight without Affecting Vision

German automotive parts supplier Bosch launched a new virtual car sun visor during the CES exhibition.

The virtual sun visor consists of a transparent LCD screen and a camera facing the driver, equipped with artificial intelligence facial recognition, analysis and tracking software.

Compared with traditional sun visors, Bosch's sun visor solution can block strong light while avoiding blocking the driver's vision.

Bosch launches virtual sun visor, which has won the CES "Best Innovation Award"

The sun visor is a practical little feature in the car. It can hold some papers. When the sun is shining directly, it can be put down to block the sunlight so that it will not irritate the eyes. However, this will inevitably block some vision. Bosch has developed a virtual sun visor. What kind of configuration is this? It is more intelligent and humane than the traditional plastic sun visor, more convenient, and will not affect the driver's vision. It mainly relies on active sensors and honeycomb liquid crystal panels to block the sun. The honeycomb shape has a futuristic sense of technology. In the game masterpiece "Crysis", this shape style is very representative.

This transparent display can effectively block the sun's radiation, while also allowing you to see the road conditions ahead clearly. This is the world's first virtual sun visor, which is of great historical significance. This sun visor monitors the driver's vision in front of it by connecting to a surveillance camera. Through intelligent algorithms, it analyzes and calculates the brightness of the sun and the path of other light sources through the windshield into the driver's eyes to adjust the brightness of the display. Dim the illuminated parts, and keep other unaffected areas transparent. The area of this visor is not as small as the traditional visor, which can only block a little bit downwards to cover the forehead.

It is a whole piece that is put down and covers the whole face. Unfortunately, it can only be used as an auxiliary, and it is just a relatively large sun visor without 360-degree panoramic coverage. If this technology is integrated into the entire front windshield, it will be extremely cool, but it incorporates many high-tech elements, so it won the CES Best Innovation Award.

Don’t look at it so sci-fi, in fact, this LCD screen and RGB camera have very low power consumption. The RGB camera is responsible for collecting sunlight on the driver’s face, and the screen has honeycomb lines. AI artificial intelligence technology receives the sunlight collected by the camera, analyzes it, and adjusts to adapt to the sunlight. It can adjust the brightness continuously according to the changes in light and the angle path in real time to reduce the impact of glare and make our driving safer.
